LUDLOW, Ky. (AP) -- Police say a group of teenagers fishing in a creek in Ludlow found a body but initially thought the remains were a mannequin.
Ludlow Police Sgt. Eric Love says the remains of a man in his 30s were discovered Tuesday afternoon in Pleasant Run Creek. Love says authorities believe they know the man's identity, but it may take a couple of days to verify it.
One of the people who spotted the body, 17-year-old Jeffrey Thornsburg says the remains didn't appear real at first until he got a closer look.
Thornsburg says that he and a friend fished there Monday, when the creek was about 3 or 4 feet higher. They saw nothing out-of-the-ordinary on that day.
