LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Louisville police say a group of witnesses kept a suspect in a fatal stabbing at the scene until officers arrived.
Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell told The Courier-Journal none of the bystanders were injured, but he doesn't advocate people trying to catch a violent person.
Mitchell says the group stopped 30-year-old Junior Javier Ricardo-Rodrigues from leaving Thursday night after another man had been stabbed multiple times.
The victim was taken to University of Louisville Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Ricardo-Rodrigues was in the Louisville jail on Friday. Court records did not list an attorney. The identity of the slain man was not immediately released.
