Area organizations, along with WBKO suited-up and put on their basketball shoes for a good cause yesterday.
A team from Cave City and Glasgow Police Departments took on Bowling Green Fire Department, while Team WBKO played Kentucky State Police.
The basketball games were put on to support a staff member at Caverna High School.
"Anita Mauldin is the secretary book keeper at Caverna High School. She was diagnosed with esophageal cancer a little over a month ago, and she has been incurring some major costs. So we took it upon ourselves to go ahead and start doing some things-- selling t-shirts , bracelets, things like that for the foundation and it goes to support their family," says Caverna High School Principal Brad Phipps.
More than $3,000 was raised from the basketball games yesterday.
All the proceeds go support Anita and her family.
