BARREN COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) -- Barren County Schools will lose approximately 63 positions for the upcoming school year due to a lack of funding.
Assistant Superintendent Mark Wallace says that includes 33 classified and 30 certified positions.
Wallace says the school district doesn't have the funds to offset the continued reduction of state and federal dollars coming in.
He also says the district hopes additional funding will come available through Title I, but they're not sure what that'll be with the recent sequestration.
Wallace says the district will continue to be one of constant improvement no matter what hurdles they must overcome.
