What started as a small fire outside this Edmonson County home turned into a blast that could be heard for miles.
After officials found meth outside the home, they got an warrant to search the house.
But what officials found inside the home, blew them away.
"We found out it was a bomb and I was just like oh my god," says neighbor Hayli Perkins.
An old military training bomb was found in a home off Hannah Ct, near Rocky Hills.
"After I got home around 9, I saw the police were still out there and I was just like, oh my god, there's something really serious going on," says Perkins.
Deputy Brian Starnes, says the suspect fled during the fire, "Neighbors told us he called a friend and they came picked him up and they left."
The Edmonson County Sheriff's Department along with the Edmonson and Barren County Drug Task Force called in Fort Campbell's EOD, or the bomb squad.
After about an hour of inspecting the bomb the EOD decided to dispose of it by designation, or in other words, blow it up on purpose.
"All of a sudden, I hear this huge boom and I'm like oh my gosh what on earth just happened?" Says Perkins.
Officials later found the bomb was inert but didn't want to take any chances.
Police are still searching for the suspect they say since the bomb was inactive they he will not face charges for the explosive, but he will face several meth related charges.
