PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (AP) — The president of the Kentucky Sheriff's Association has resigned after pleading guilty to drunken driving.
WYMT-TV reports Floyd County Sheriff John Blackburn stepped down from the post over the weekend.
The move comes after Blackburn was charged last month with drunken driving in Powell County. Police say he registered a .20 during a breath test, which is above the legal limit.
The station reports Blackburn pleaded guilty to the charge earlier this month and was sentenced to four days in jail.
