Proposal at Home Plate

Posted: Sat 10:55 PM, Sep 01, 2012

Love was in the air at tonight's Hot Rods game.

Lauren Johnson thought she was being honored as an outstanding teacher when she threw out the first pitch. What she didn't know, was that her boyfriend was disguised as the catcher, and in a matter of seconds would be down on one knee at home plate.

"Whenever she threw the pitch, and I walked up to her, and I got down on one knee, everything seemed perfect. I'm really excited. I'm just happy she said yes," said Caleb Parrigan.

"I'm so excited. I was just nervous because I thought I was throwing out the first pitch today, but I never imagined that this was what today was going to end up being," said Lauren Johnson.

Parrigan had been planning the proposal for five months. The couple's family and friends were there to cheer them on, and after, they were able to stay and enjoy the game together.
