Public defenders across Kentucky are dealing with more cases than ever.
Public defenders in Bowling Green took on nearly 153,000 cases last year - that's up from a little under 109,000 nearly a decade ago.
The Bowling Green office is among the busiest in the state.
One attorney said an increase of meth arrests and the recession are reasons for the increase.
She also said that each of Bowling Green's 10 public defenders handles about 500 new cases each year.
