Police in Indianapolis say a teenager died after falling from a fifth floor balcony while trying to escape from officers breaking up a late-night party at an apartment building near the IUPUI campus.
18-year-old Xavier Somerville of Indianapolis lost his grip and fell as he was trying to swing down to a balcony below after officers arrived on a noise complaint about 3 A.M. Monday.
Police say that officers found Somerville on the sidewalk.
He was taken to a hospital where he died a shortly after.
Family and friends remembered him last night at a candle-light vigil.
