Warren Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation was granted a 13-million dollar loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture today.
U.S. Representative of Kentucky's 1st congressional district Ed Whitfield announced the loan today.
Rep. Whitfield said the loan will help update the electric distribution infrastructure in eight Kentucky counties.
The loan will be used to serve more than 3,000 consumers. and build and improve 216 miles of distribution lines.
Rep. Whitfield also said the loan will add jobs and create an economic boost to the region.
