Reason Gas Prices Are High in Kentucky

By Jake Boswell |

According to experts high gas prices are due to a number of factors. Bowling Green is no stranger to high gas prices. It's the second highest area in the East Central Kentucky region, behind Louisville.

"The reason that prices are high is because this time of year refineries shut down to basically perform standardized maintenance on a seasonal level. They did it earlier this year than they usually do." said Roger Boyd of AAA.

AAA also said the reason prices vary from city to city, depends on the location the gas is shipped from, in comparison to where it ends up.
