Red Cross Holds Blood Drive For Tornado Victims

As in most emergency situations the Red Cross is there to help those devastated by the tornadoes in Oklahoma. The group hosted a blood drive on Bowling Green's campus of Western Kentucky University. The Red Cross says it's an initiative to be prepared, in case a need arises in the wounded cities of Moore and Shawnee. For those who can't make it out to Oklahoma the drive provided an avenue for aid.

"I feel good. My body feels good after I've donated. It's getting old blood out and new blood in. I want to help any way that I can. Being in school and working I'm not able to go down there and help. Donating blood is one way for me to help those that need it." said Meredith Chaney, who donated blood.

If you would like to donate to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, Call 1-800-RED-CROSS or text "red cross" to 90999 to make a ten-dollar donation.
