RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) -- Human remains have been found in central Kentucky among the rubble of a burned cabin whose owner was last seen Sept. 26.
Madison County Coroner Jim Cornelison says the state medical examiner's office was examining the remains, which were found Wednesday.
Kentucky State Police say the cabin's owner, 57-year-old Walter Liebengood of Richmond, has been missing from his home near the Kentucky River for more than a week, since the fire broke out.
Police opened a missing person case for Liebengood after the search of the residence was exhausted. Liebengood was last seen on Sept. 25 at his home.
Cornelison said at this point, he does not know whether foul play is involved.
