School may have started last week, but a ribbon cutting was held Sunday to celebrate a new school.
Students from Jody Richards Elementary in Bowling Green cut the ribbon to officially mark the opening.
Jody Richards was also on hand to accept a key to the school.
Warren County Public Schools say despite rough economic times the area continues to grow and so does the need for schools.
"We've been very fortunate here in Bowling Green, Warren County, even in the midst of the worst economy in quite some time we have continued to grow as a school district. I've been on the board probably ten years and we average 300 students additionally each year," says Mike Wilson, chairman of the Board of Education.
Jody Richards Elementary is also a netzero school, which means it was built to use less energy.
