FRANKFORT, Ky. (WBKO) -- Republicans in the Kentucky House of Representatives filed a right to work bill Thursday.
House Minority Floor Leader Jeff Hoover said the Kentucky Right to Work act says no employee will be required to be a part of a labor organization.
Hoover said the bill gives an employee the option to be a part of a union or not, it doesn't force them either way.
Those in support of this, say it is about more than just a choice.
"Independent studies and data consistently demonstrate that states that have passed right to work laws have an advantage when attracting new businesses and expanding their economies," said Rep. Jeff Hoover, R-Jamestown.
Rep. Jim DeCesare, R-Rockfield is a primary co-sponsor of the bill and has been a long time supporter of right to work legislation.
