Kentucky State Police say multiple tornadoes have touched down in Trimble County in northern Kentucky, and a fire station has been destroyed there.
State police dispatcher Melinda Portman says there are no immediate reports of injuries.
She said the storm that hit Trimble County on Friday afternoon has destroyed a volunteer fire station about 10 miles west of Bedford. Portman says there is damage to some homes.
Multiple tornado warnings have been issued mostly in western and central Kentucky as the state was pounded for a second time this week. The commonwealth was hit by an outbreak of tornadoes on Wednesday.
Schools shut down early, high school basketball games were postponed and Churchill Downs closed its off-track betting operations as Kentucky braced for the severe storms.
