President and CEO of Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College, or SKYCTC, Dr, Nathan Hodges, is retiring this week, and today the college unveiled a monument in honor of his service as president in the campus' main courtyard.
The sculpture was created by one of SKYCTC's welding professors and a student, and it was a surprise for Dr. Hodges.
"To get pictures of every angle of this great work of art, and I want everyone to sign it, because they've been a part of creating everything that we've done," said SKYCTC President Dr. Nathan Hodges.
"It's probably going to be here when I'm long gone, and having students work with me means more too," said SKYCTC welding professor Rick Dockery.
"It's been an honor to be included like this," said SKYCTC welding student Romey Lance Beliles.
Festivities to honor Dr. Hodges' retirement will continue tomorrow afternoon with a retirement celebration at 4p.m. at the college's main campus.
