After seven years of uncertainty, we now know who will be singing, dancing and acting on SKyPAC's stage in its inaugural season.
Broadway is coming to Bowling Green!
SKyPAC's board made the announcement Tuesday.
Cats, Mamma Mia, and The Riverdance are just a few of the big names coming to the area starting in March.
Don and Barbara Osten were the first couple to tour SKyPAC when it first went under construction.
Tuesday, the couple was the first to buy tickets to the inaugural season.
"We like live theater," says Don, "I think live theater in Bowling Green is very important because, not only does it let you transport yourself into a never, never land but, what it also does is broadens the stage of Bowling Green."
SKyPAC and patrons alike say they hope these big names will bring more tourism to the area.
"We can do things for multiple nights then we can even bring in shows that haven't toured before but, physically the building can accommodate anything that is available," says Tom Tomlinson, the Executive Director of SKyPAC.
And WBKO got a sneak peak at the building Tuesday, set to be finished in just a few months.
"Today, (Tuesday) in fact they are installing all the stage rigging and the building draperies," says Tomlinson, "All that arrived on site this morning, the scaffolding is starting to come down on the inside of the auditorium. So, we will start to see seats going in around the first of the year."
Tickets went on sale at noon Tuesday and even before the clock struck 12, the phones were ringing off the hook.
SKyPAC isn't releasing the names of the opening act yet or, when exactly opening night will be.
They say they have it scheduled for the second week in March.
You can purchase a subscription to any of the series right now.
Individual tickets will go on sale February first.
