It may be some time until they are driving on the road but some kids had the opportunity to drive like their parents.
Kentucky State Police taught kids pedestrian and school bus safety Thursday at Safety City in Bowling Green.
Kids drove mini Corvettes while obeying traffic signs, stop lights, and watching for pedestrians.
Teachers say children look forward to days like this as it is a unique learning opportunity.
"It's just a fun and hands on way for them to learn about Safety rules here in our community. It's not work sheets, it's not lectures, it's not anything like that it is totally out of the ordinary from what they are used to," says teacher Erica Vaughn.
Along with pedestrian safety kids learned gun safety and "stranger danger".
