"If you look at St. Jude real close it kind of tugs at your heart and it's just an honor to be involved and to make this vehicle available. Some one will not just be able to win this dream home, but they will be able to win this vehicle as well. So we just wanted to try and help in some way."
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- It's the tenth year for the Saint Jude Dream Home, and this morning the long journey to a Dream Home Giveaway began with a Ceremonial Ground Breaking.
The Dream Home Team started their day off with the Saint Jude golden shovels.
Organizers, contractors, volunteers and many more say they are ready to get the dream home festivities started.
"We were able to kick it of this year with some good weather and get started on the house. We're just ready to get going," said Darrel Sweets the President of Sweets Design Build Inc.
Organizers want the tenth year give away to be huge!
"We are really trying to get everybody behind it this year and figure out how we can make this year bigger and better. We are doing this for the community, we're doing it for the kids, locally. We have so many kids in this area that have been affected and have been at St. Jude so we're helping them out, so we're really hoping to blow this year away! We are excited about it," said Hollie Hayden the Regional Marketing/Coordinator of the Bowling Green Dream Home.
To spice it up Leachman Buick GMC Cadillac has donated a 2014 GMC Terrain to this years giveaways.
"If you look at St. Jude real close it kind of tugs at your heart and it's just an honor to be involved and to make this vehicle available. Some one will not just be able to win this dream home, but they will be able to win this vehicle as well. So we just wanted to try and help in some way," said David Jaggers the General Manager of Leachman Buick GMC Cadillac.
Because the weather has been so crazy lately, the Dream Home Team has already started on the house while there have been some sunny days in the forecast.
Sweet Design Builders say any one is welcome to help.
"We'll take all the help we can get just like this is for the community we want the community to be involved, even if you're not in the construction industry it would be great if you could come on board," said Sweets.
Tickets go on sale this summer and whether you win or not, your money goes to help the children of Saint Jude.
The grand opening of the house will be in August and the giveaway will be September 14th at noon right here on WBKO.
