The Family Enrichment Center in Bowling Green is a non-profit organization that aims to empower families and prevent child abuse in the Barren River region.
Today they kicked off their annual Buckets of Hope competition. Students from Warren County and Bowling Green public schools can now donate their change to help other children.
"It's kids being proactive and raising money for other kids. They want to be proactive and make a difference in the community. Last year Potter Gray raised over 2800 dollars for their school," said Family Enrichment Center Exec. Director Nickie Jones.
Jones says Lost River Elementary School came in a very close second place last year.
The winning classroom gets a free Wendy's meal, and the top fundraising school wins an ice cream party from Bruster's.
