SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. -- One family's home is damaged after Saturday night's storm caused a tree to fall on it Sunday morning.
The homeowner's son-in-law, David Carter, spent hours removing the tree from the roof and covering it with a tarp.
He said the weight of the ice on the tree that was splitting in half caused it to fall -- leaving damage inside and out of the house.
The home is on Petty Lane in Scottsville and was built just a few years ago.
"A lot of damage to the house. It's leaking all over inside. The limb shot clear through the wall -- through the shower. They were in the bed at the time when it happened -- scared both of them to death," Carter said.
The family said they hope it will be repaired by Christmas, but they're just thankful no one was hurt.
