BOWLING GREEN, Ky (WBKO) -- More than one-hundred men spent the morning focusing on their own health and wellness.
The Medical Center hosted its second annual “Men's Health Alliance Meeting", inviting all men to come out for a variety of free screenings.
Men were able to have their oxygen levels tested, take part in melanoma screenings, along with other one-on-one demonstrations.
A "dry needle" procedure was performed, teaching the men about a variety of procedures available for their personal wellness.
"Men typically are a little slow in taking care of their own health needs. I have to say, in our community, our women do a much better job. We've been hosting a woman’s conference for many years where we have about four-hundred to five-hundred women who show up. A couple of years ago we decided we needed to push men to do that same thing,” said Ron Sowell, Commonwealth Health Corporation's Vice President.
Two local physicians, along with a physical therapist, were on site to answer questions during the event.
