Senator Rand Paul remains clear he wants industrial hemp legalized in Kentucky.
He believes the legislation to legalize will bring a new economic boom to Kentucky.
Opponents, such as law enforcement, say it would create problems because it looks similar to marijuana.
Paul says every step would be taken to prevent that issue.
"The rules that are being written by Commissioner James Comer are that you have to say exactly where you are going to grow it, you have to have your GPS coordinates and then someone will come out there each month and making sure you are just growing hemp," says Senator Paul.
A bill was passed last week by the Senate to legalize hemp and is expected to be in the House Agriculture Committee soon.
