While Nashville was flooded with Hilltoppers fans, many decided to stay in Bowling Green for the first game of the season.

Western and University of Kentucky fans both said they enjoy the sports-bar atmosphere. They like cheering on their teams with other fans while watching the games on several TVs.

Some said it was much better than making the drive to Nashville and dealing with the heat outside.

"I decided not to fight the heat. and I didn't want to lose because it'd be a long ride back," said Mark Cockrien, a Hilltoppers fan.

Double Dogs employees said they stay pretty busy during football games, and today, they were filled up before the game started and on a wait throughout the game.
