GREENUP, Ky. (AP) — A northeastern Kentucky sheriff says a 15-year-old student brought a loaded 9 mm pistol to the Greenup County High School football homecoming game.
Sheriff Keith M. Cooper says the student also carried a fully loaded extra magazine and a box of extra ammunition to the game Friday night against Johnson Central High.
Cooper says students reported the teen pointing the gun at others at the game who notified law enforcement.
Sheriff's deputies arrested the student and took him to the Boyd County Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
Cooper says the investigation is ongoing, but it appears the student was acting alone.
The student's name was not released because of his age.
