Shoppers Return Gifts & Take Advantage Of Deals

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Families spend months picking out gifts for loved ones, but it only takes one day for some of those gifts to be returned.

Hundreds of people packed Target in Bowling Green not only to return items, but to also take advantage of post-Christmas deals. Trees and other holiday decorations went on sale. Though the deals are what brought many out, others said they were there to spend gift cards they received for Christmas.

"It was Christmas items. Christmas trees, wrapping paper, and an elf on the shelf. It's all things the kids wanted." said shopper Pamela Simpson.

"I got my daughter a pair of boots and they were too small, so we're here to return them and get a bigger size. We plan in advance for this type of thing. We make list and gets sizes so we don't have very many returns." added shopper Geraldine Shoemake.

The day marked the beginning of the end to a very busy holiday season for retailers in the area. Despite the packed aisles at stores, many also said they're waiting on items they ordered online.
