Simpson County Accuses Quarry of Permit Violations

Among the alleged violations, are trucks not using Ditmore Ford Road, and berms not being built in accordance with the permit.

FRANKLIN, KY (WBKO) -- The owner of a proposed Simpson County quarry is accused of violating five rules of its Conditional Use Permit.

Simpson County Planning and Zoning Administrator Joe Perry's inspection, found five areas where Weldon Deweese or his company, Drakes Creek Holding LLC, was not complying with the permit issued.

Among the alleged violations, are trucks not using Ditmore Ford Road, and berms not being built in accordance with the permit.

David Carver, of Neighbors Against the Quarry, wants Simpson County's Board of Adjustment to revoke Deweese's conditional permit.

We were unable to reach a Deweese spokesperson for comment.
