The beautiful weather has helped a local construction project stay right on schedule.

SKyPAC is set to open in a little more than two weeks!

"We're 17 days from opening now so we're right down to the final push," says Executive Director Tom Tomlinson.

The countdown is on for SKyPAC's opening night and things are pretty busy around here.

"Things are right on schedule, we're pouring concrete outside so the outside of the building will be complete assuming it doesn't snow before opening night," says Tomlinson.

From adding the finishing touches outside to placing decorative tiles in the lobby and carpet on the stairs, the pieces are coming together.

SKyPAC's Executive Director says the mild weather has helped the major construction project come together so nicely.

"The weather has been great, it's really been our friend," says Tomlinson.

The performing art's center only has a few big items left on it's "to do list" and putting up the chandelier in the lobby is one of them.

"Its sitting backstage in pieces, so it'll be put together starting tomorrow," says Tomlinson.

The concert hall is mostly finished and SKyPAC says if you're anxious to see how far along the center has come in a matter of days, to make sure to show opening night or one of the many shows scheduled for the coming months.

"We've stopped giving tours now, we're are trying to keep it, well not a secret..we just don't want thousands of people in here before opening night, we're letting these guys here do there job."

SKyPAC's opening night is set for March 10Th with country singer Leann Rimes performing with Orchestra Kentucky.
