Slick Roads Send Van Slamming into House

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Road conditions may have been the slickest in Bowling Green yesterday around dinner time and one family unknowingly found out the hard way.

Multiple wrecks were reported on Lovers Lane last night.

One wreck caused a house on Plum Springs Rd. to shake from its foundation.

That's because a van slammed head on into the front of the home.

The family that lives inside says they were making dinner when they heard what sounded like a bomb going off.

"There was just this BOOM! There's really no way to describe the sound besides -- anger. It's just there. Immediately we rushed outside," said Kerby Gilstrap, who was home when the van hit.

The Gilstrap family said they called 911 and a woman was the only one in the car.

To the family's knowledge, the driver suffered a broken hand and a concussion.
