Some Brave Weather for Day After Christmas Deals

By Lindsey Yates |

The day after Christmas is traditionally a day for frenzied shoppers to scoop up holiday deals, or to return a gift from Santa.

Some braved the weather and the crowds to cash in.

Stores were ready to cater to you as retailers such as Target opened their doors at 7 AM.

"We open up a little early today to give guests the chance to get in the store and return any gifts they didn't want, also gives them a chance to do some shopping,"says Jim Sauerheber, Store Manager at Target.

With 50% off signs throughout the store, most stocked up for next Christmas.

"It's the best time to get my paper and my name tags for next year. Everything is half off you can't beat it."

For the past 9 years the 26Th has been a day of tradition for the Helms.

"It's just an annual tradition to go out the day after Christmas and stock up on items that are half price,"says Jimmy Helms.

"It's always great to save money and have a good time with your friends."

"It's a good time to spend all your gift cards and it's nice to go out with your family."

It's not just about the deals today some are returning those unwanted Christmas gifts early.

"It was a little baby toy that never came to life after we put batteries in it,"says a customer returning an item.

"If you could avoid the weekend return I would recommend doing that and maybe today or tomorrow do your returns,"says Sauerheber.

To avoid hassle have your receipt in hand.

"The easiest thing if you have a receipt we can do exchange or give you cash back or if you paid for it by card we can credit your card back,"says Sauerheber.

Check each stores return policy as some only offer in store cash for returns.
