BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - SKyPAC expects 3,000 to 5,000 people to pack Downtown Bowling Green for the first Sounds of Independence Music Festival.
It was announced Wednesday morning that country music superstar Darius Rucker will headline the event on July 27. The day long concert will also feature several other artists including Bowling Green's own Justin Rivers. SKyPAC says with the help of corporate sponsor Independence Bank they were able to snag a big time name like Rucker.
"It has been been incredible to have the flexibility to go and search for an artist like him," says Tom Tomlinson, Executive Director of SKyPAC.
His star power also has other performers excited to take the stage.
"It's talent like Darius that sets the bar really high. For these future concerts I really think the caliber is going to be high for these. So I couldn't be more excited to be a part of the first one," says Justin Rivers.
The festival will take place outdoors, behind SKyPAC. Tickets will go on sale Friday morning at 11. You can get yours by calling the SKyPAC Ticket Office at (270) 904-1880 or visiting the SKyPAC website at the link below.
