Hundreds came out to participate in the South Central Kentucky Heart Walk. To those involved with organizing the event, it was very rewarding to see the community come out and support their cause.
"It feels awesome. It feels even better to know that the event has doubled this year from last year. The more people we get involved the more awareness is raised, which raises that level of education." Michelle Alloway happily said. Alloway works for the American Heart Association.
The event consisted of a 5K walk and run, a kids zone, live music, and a survivor memorial. The walk was a component of "My heart. My life." Which is a platform used to encourage Americans toward a healthier lifestyle.
