It's National Teacher Appreciation Day and schools across South Central Kentucky showed their gratitude Tuesday for teachers they employ.

Warren Central High School in Bowling Green is just one school that held a special luncheon in the library for their teachers.

A student, who helped out at the luncheon, says she's thankful for her teachers.

"A lot of teachers will go above and beyond what they are supposed to do and they'll make sure that students are always taken care of and that, they're able to graduate and move on to the next level and just make sure that they're going to be okay," says Jaylen Lee, a Senior at Warren Central High School.

Warren central will be honoring teachers the rest of this week.

The Warren County Education Association is hosting also hosting a teacher retirement dinner Tuesday night to honor the educators who are resigning their posts.
