BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- It was a celebration of things past, and big things expected to come on the campus of SKYCTC in Bowling Green Tuesday.
The college celebrated its 75th anniversary Tuesday morning with a ceremony and reception held on campus. City and county officials were on hand to celebrate the occasion.
Administrators with the school said they're proud of the tradition, but they said their biggest achievement of all is providing opportunities for area students, young and old.
"It helps industry coming in and it gives them a good work force to draw from," said former Director of the Vocational & Technical School, Bob Bierman.
"The 75th anniversary is really celebration of the past, present, and the future. We're truly changing lives for the better. Creating better careers for themselves and for their families. It has so many positive impacts on throughout the region and state," said Current SKYCTC President, Phillip Neal.
The college was originally located on Russellville Road back in 1939. Then in the early 60's, the chamber of commerce bought new land for the move to the new campus.
