It was a night for food, fun and spelling at the Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green.
Dozens of businesses and community organizations gathered teams for tonight's Spellabration spelling bee to benefit the Bowling Green-Warren County Community Education program.
The reigning champions from last year, the team from the law firm of English Lucas Priest and Owsley, or ELPO were known as SPELLPO tonight.
They say the proceeds benefit a cause dear to many members of their staff.
"My kids are in the community ed after school program at McNeil and it's been valuable for us. They do great work for the kids, and there are lots of other children and grandchildren and nieces and nephews of folks at ELPO who benefit from the programs," said English Lucas Priest and Owsley partner Kenly Ames.
Hundreds attended, even some of the WBKO crew tried their hands at spelling.
Aside from winning the spelling bee, teams were awarded for best costume, best team name, and the student winners of the U.S. Bank Spellabration art show were announced.
