BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- It's warming up and spring is less than two weeks away.

Sporting goods stores like Nat's Outdoor Sports in Bowling Green have traded winter coats for swimwear.

Employees say people have already been buying outdoor sports supplies like mountain bikes, kayaks, running shoes and more, to gear up for the warm weather that's right around the corner.

"Everybody's been waiting for it. This bad winter that we've had, I think everybody will be ready for some swimming and bicycling and kayaking," said Aaron Clark, a sales associate at Nat's Outdoor Sports. "Sold a lot of swim trunks and bathing suits already, a lot of people are starting to go to the beach and getting ready for spring break and things like that, but yes, just in general, those things have started to pick up."

He says spring brings them a bit more business than in winter.

He also says mountain biking will probably be popular in the area this year because Bowling Green has two new trails.
