The Pope's final public address means the Catholic Church around the world is now in prayer, and that includes Bowling Green. Officials at St. Joseph Catholic Church say until the new Pope is elected, the members of the church will pray for the conclave to make their big decision. The prospect of a new Pope has many speculating if the new pontiff will be from outside of Europe; an unprecedented move for the church.

"The Holy Spirit has guided the conclave to choose that Pope. I'll be happy with it, if it is a matter of God's will if an Asian Pope be elected, or an African Pope, or an American Pope. That's the will of God. We have to follow that. We have to be obedient to the pontiff." said Seminarian, Michael Charles Ajigo Abiero.

Many of the cardinals who will be involved in the election process were appointed by Pope Benedict XVI, but Pope Benedict himself will have no say in the matter of electing the new leader of the church.
