LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- The state Parks Department has some interesting items scheduled for a surplus sale this week at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park in Louisville.
A penny-farthing, high-wheeled bicycle and a velocipede boneshaker bicycle, both from the late 1800s, will be for sale, along with Southwestern Native American pottery, rug, basket and bead ware; mechanical banks; and antique battery-operated cars. There are also old sporting shotguns, rifles and 20th century bayonets; and brass and crystal chandeliers.
Items can be seen at the park's administrative building from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. EST Monday or at the link in "Related Links," where more information about the sale is available.
Sealed bids may be submitted anytime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday, the day of the sale, with items to be sold on a "spot bid" basis.
