Trooper In Stable Condition After Being Hit By Hart County Driver

BULLITT COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) -- On Interstate 65, police said a state trooper has been hit by a car driven in Bullitt County.

KSP in Louisville said Trooper Sam Shacklette was in a work zone on the interstate before being hit by a passing car driven by Louis Edward Dunn of Bonnieville. Shacklette was thrown approximately 50 feet and landed in the shoulder of the roadway.

The road was shut down for hours near mile marker 102.

Shacklette is currently recovering at university of Louisville hospital.

Dunn was charged for Failure To Give Right Of Way To Emergency Stopped Vehicle, Operating On An Expired Operators License, No Insurance.
