GLASGOW, Ky. (WBKO) -- Cave City dentist Dr. Chris Steward has filed for a recount in Barren County Circuit Court for the Barren County Judge-Executive democratic primary.
Steward finished third by only 16 votes to winner Michael Hale and Bud Tarry finished second to hale by only three votes.
A recanvass has already been completed with no change to the results.
Steward thinks some absentee ballots should have been counted that were not included in the results.
"I feel that people have been disenfranchised. The votes have not been counted. The votes may go against me, they may go for me, I don't know. I will abide by that when all the votes are in, but thus far all the votes are not in," said Steward.
The clerk's office told WBKO previously, several absentee ballots were thrown out for several reasons including no signature or an envelope not being sealed.
The time line isn't clear yet when the next part of this process will happen.
