Stolen Church Trailer Carried Puppet Ministry

PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) -- Members of a western Kentucky church are hoping to locate a stolen trailer that carried equipment and about 50 puppets that are part of its traveling ministry.

Newton Creek Baptist Church in McCracken County calls the ministry the Truth Troop, and it travels to different churches in the area to put on puppet shows.

Police say the trailer, which contained lighting and sound gear and 50 puppets, was taken between Friday and Saturday.

The Paducah Sun (http://bit.ly/RL4jJO) reports members of the church prayed on Sunday for the return of the trailer. Pastor Wayne Carter says he hopes the puppets and equipment would be found and returned.

The church plans to offer a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those who might have taken the equipment.
