HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- A 16-year-old boy is to be arraigned on murder charges in the fatal stabbing of a classmate at their Connecticut High School.
The attacked happened just hours before the Junior Prom on Friday.
Police haven't released the suspect's name, but people have identified him as Chris Plaskon, a friend of the victim.
Authorities are investigating whether 16-year-old Maren Sanchez was stabbed after turning down the boys invitation to the dance.
Plaskon's attorney says he's being held in a hospital under psychiatric evaluation and will not appear at his arraignment today.
The Medical Examiner's Office has ruled that Sanchez died from stab wounds to her torso and neck.
The school will remain closed today.
