WARREN CO., Ky. (WBKO) -- Oakland Elementary's playground is getting some upgrades through a collaborative project.

Students in the Construction Technology program at the Warren County Area Technology Center have teamed up with the Warren County Public Schools Maintenance Department.

They're building a storage building for playground items and a concrete walk to connect it to the playground.

"Win-win for Oakland Elementary, win-win for us, because these types of projects, we don't have the budget to go out and do something like this. So they provide the materials and then our students get to go out and do some learning about skill sets that they're going to use for life," said principal of the Warren County Tech Center, Eric Keeling.

Keeling said the storage building the students planned and built will be delivered Monday.

The principal of Oakland Elementary said the school is grateful for the project.
