Students Get Preview of Voting During Mock Election

Some future voters had the chance to see what it's like to cast their ballots today.

The Classical Conversations program transformed the atrium of Hillvue Heights Church into a mock precinct.

This was part of a class dedicated to teaching the importance of voting. Before casting their ballots, students visited the republican and democratic headquarters. and had a mock debate where they talked about issues with classmates.

"They all researched their candidates and gave speeches, and today we've done a mock election, and we are excited to hear the results," said Classical Conversations tutor Mildred Ward.

The students weren't just voters, some worked the voting booths, while others helped voters sign in, and others passed out "I voted" stickers.
