Student Mentors Stand Against Bullying

BOWLING GREEN, Ky (WBKO) -- Students from Moss Middle School are partnering with elementary students to "trump bullying".

This is a transitioning program that allows middle school students to become mentors to younger students.

Students from Moss Middle School spoke to Warren County Board administrators today, explaining the plan for their program.

The objective of this program is to build leaders within the middle school and lead sixth graders in the right direction.

"I think it is going to be good for the incoming sixth graders. I know for me it was kind of scary coming to middle school because everyone has heard the horror stories and everything, but it is really not that bad. Some people don't know that. I think it will be good having somebody who is currently in middle school, help out the younger kids especially," said Elena Nasser, Moss Middle School student.

Teachers and administrators will review applications and select nine students to participate and partner with incoming seventh graders.
