Suspect In Death Of Former UK Player Caught

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Huntington police say they've arrested an Ohio man who was sought in the slaying of a former University of Kentucky basketball player.

Police Chief Skip Holbrook says Richard Willis of Columbus, Ohio, was captured without incident at a Huntington residence Friday. Media outlets report Willis was arrested on a fugitive from justice warrant.

Last month Columbus police filed an aggravated murder warrant against Willis.

Authorities say Desmond Allison was shot to death July 25 outside an apartment complex in Columbus. Allison played for the Wildcats from 1998 to 2000.

Willis was being held without bond Friday evening at the Western Regional Jail. Jail records didn't indicate whether he has an attorney.
