An accident involving a tractor trailer rig hitting a guard rail and barrier wall in a construction zone has slowed traffic to a crawl on I-65 southbound this morning near the Hart/Barren county line at mile marker 58. The site is located between the Horse Cave and Cave City exits.
There was also thick fog in the area of the accident which has also made the morning commute a little more hazardous.
Kentucky State Police and local emergency management officials are working the accident which may take up to 6 hours to clean up.
Motorists are urged to use 31W or 31E south as alternate routes.
