Law enforcement is once again getting ready for their take back drugs event.
It's an event Kentucky State Police and Bowling Green Police take part in twice a year.
This Saturday you can stop by designated places and drop off any expired or unwanted pills.
Officials say this event is important for a number of reasons.
"One, get the medication out of the residences so people, and people are going in to try and steal those medications. Two, it keeps people from throwing them away into the trash cans and end up going into our landfills or as people used to do, flush them down the commode which ends up getting into our waterways. So, it's just a safer way to dispose of these medications," said Kentucky State Police Trooper Jonathan Biven.
You can stop by the KSP post, Safety City, or Bowling Green Police Department from 9 am to 2 pm on Saturday and drop off pills.
