A Taylor County man is charged with defrauding Social Security of more than $110,000 because he collected his mother's survivor benefits for ten years after her death.
69-year-old George Roberts is charged in a two count federal indictment with theft and Social Security fraud.
Prosecutors say Roberts collected his dead mother's Social Security benefits illegally between June 2000 and August 2010.
The indictment also alleges he never told the Social Security Administration his mother had died.
Roberts' next appearance in U.S. District Court in Bowling Green will be January 30th.
